Project Brief

With a growing family, the homeowners wanted to create a spacious, connected area where everyone could cook, dine, and relax together. Their old kitchen layout felt confined and disconnected from the garden. The brief was to design and build a modern orangery Kitchen extension that would become the true heart of the home — combining a kitchen, dining room, and snug all within one light-filled space.

The Build

Surrey Orangery completely converted and constructed the rear of the property to form a new open-plan orangery extension, blending traditional architecture with modern design. The structure features underfloor water heating throughout for comfort and efficiency, powered by a new high-efficiency boiler.

A large feature smart-glass lantern brings an abundance of natural light into the space while regulating heat and glare. The modern kitchen forms the centrepiece of the orangery, flowing seamlessly into the dining and snug areas to create a relaxed, social environment.

Externally, porcelain patio slabs extend the living space outdoors, providing a stylish and durable finish perfect for family life and entertaining. The project also included a new utility room and a modern ground floor shower room; both designed for practicality and family convenience.

The Result

The transformation has turned the entire ground floor into a bright, functional, and welcoming family hub. This orangery in Farnham now connects the kitchen, dining, and snug spaces into one harmonious layout, with year-round comfort from underfloor heating and advanced glazing.
